The Great Coupling — Immersive 3D Theatrical Lighting

BRIEFING

The cross-disciplinary performance project "A Chance Encounter Comes True," launched in 2014, blends wearable interactive tech with live performance, mixing digital and classical forms to find new language within performing arts — built through cross-disciplinary collaboration and experimentation in pursuit of a shared creative vision. It brought together artist Liu Chen-Hsiu, musician Su Tzu-Yin, sound artist Lin Chao-Yu, dancer Huang Huai-De, and a strong tech-art team from Legacy Lab International and Future Action. Working with Liu Chen-Hsiu, we captured the dancers' motion in real time and translated it into floating projected visuals, taking part in the real-time visual design and the stage's motion-sensing interaction.
