Adapted from a 20-year-old classic manga and built with Hollywood's latest 3D effects and motion capture, Alita: Battle Angel is a full-scale action blockbuster. The job was building excitement ahead of its Lunar New Year release and getting audiences to buy tickets. To get people hyped for a big-budget action film, we brought Hollywood-grade fight effects straight to the streets of Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung with a city-wide AR pop-up letting people transform into Alita themselves, plus a special AR filter on Facebook — building anticipation for the visual spectacle the film promised.
